The principal concern in the twenty-first century is that the earth climate is warming up as a result of the human influence, and this change could lead to several irreversible grave consequences which would pose serious challenges for the world. The project Countering Climate Change Initiative (C3i) is aimed to highlight the effects of global warming and how it would mount challenges for Pakistan. This project would also look into how the water policy of India will create problems for future generations of Pakistan.

Pakistan already short of water resources and low on per capital water consumption, and with one of the highest population growth rate in the world,  may  be facing even more serious challenges in the coming decades because of droughts and water shortage driven by the changing climate conditions. Hence, there is a dire need not only to undertake work in the science of climate change and its impact, but also to suggest ways and means to cope with the ensuing problems.
